The NFL is very much a what have you done for me now kind of business. Solomon Patton impressed Broncos coaches early on in training camp, but a bad showing against the Seattle Seahawks in week one of preseason cost Patton his job.

With the release of Patton, Omar Bolden likely solidified his spot as the Broncos full time kick and punt returner.

Patton was released to make room on the roster for free agent rookie tight end Dan Light. Light is the second tight end the Broncos have brought in during training camp, and is regarded as a pass catching tight end. At 6-5, 265 pounds Light graduated Fordham University as the top pass-catching tight end in school history.
