The Broncos added an offensive lineman in the 5th round selecting Missouri guard Connor McGovern with the 144th pick of the 2016 NFL draft.
Listed at 6’4″ 306 pounds, McGovern started 12 games at left tackle for the Tigers and spent his red-shirt year at center as well so is versatile enough to play any offensive line position.
“I think I’m a very athletic guy,” McGovern said via press conference with the Denver media. “I think I’m perfect for the zone blocking scheme.”
McGovern will likely be used as a swing player on the inside of the Broncos offensive line but says he can play any position. “Im comfortable at all positions, the Broncos haven’t indicated where I would play but I can play all three.”
