Denver Broncos roundtable predictions week 4

Denver looking to get back to back wins against NFC North foes. Let’s go around the horn for some predictions.

Rich Kurtzman

Worst passing offense in the NFL (Vikings) versus the top passing defense (Broncos) today at Mile High Stadium. Denver will dominate that aspect of the game, picking off Teddy Bridgewater, who has the greatest QB name in the NFL today in my opinion. Chris Harris intercepts him and it sets up a Manning to DT TD on the very next play.
Where the match ups aren’t as favorable is when the Vikings run. With Derek Wolfe out for this last game, Minnesota will likely run right many times this day; Peterson will total 125 yards and two touchdowns.
But the Broncos won’t allow a passing score and Manning will take another step in the positive direction, throwing three TDs with zero INTs and 350 yards.
Broncos 34, Vikings 23

Is this finally the week? Will the Broncos running game finally get its legs? Changes on the offensive line won’t make it any easier, but it can’t get any worse. In the win over the Detroit Lions it seemed Peyton Manning and the offense got into a rhythm. That continues today.

Wade Phillips and the defense will force Teddy Bridgewater to beat them when they put eight in the box (if needed) to stop Adrian Peterson and hold him to under 60 yards rushing. Another dominant performance by the defense, and a few more strides on offense lead the Broncos to a 4-0 start.
Broncos 27, Vikings 10
It’s now, once again the Peyton Manning show in Denver. This offense will look to use the pass to set up the run. With a big defensive front coming to town in Minnesota & a shuffle on the offensive line this game will be closer than Broncos fans think. I see a dog fight taking place at Mile High this afternoon & the Broncos escaping with a 24-20 victory.
This smells like a trap game. On paper this was supposed to be the start Denver’s easy part of the schedule but the Vikings are a tough football team up front on both sides of the ball.
Adrian Peterson is going to get his. Minnesota will run the ball and win time of possession by a landslide. They only way the Broncos can counter-act that is if they are able to run the ball on their own, which doesn’t seem likely to start now with yet again another patchwork offensive line. The Vikings front seven is nasty and will hassle Manning all day and force at least two turnovers.
Vikings 24. Denver 20
