The 6-0 Denver Broncos and 6-0 Green Bay Packers play one another on Sunday Night Football, but what happens at halftime is getting more attention than the game.

Pat Bowlen will be inducted into the Ring of Fame he created way back in 1984 at halftime, joining 27 other individuals who are honored for future generations to learn about.

There’s another way the organization is honoring their 30-year owner — the man at the top of the franchise when the team represented the AFC in six Super Bowls and was the winner of two — the Broncos announced Monday they have dedicated the new fieldhouse to Pat Bowlen.

The Pat Bowlen Fieldhouse, which is 115,000 square feet and houses the team’s indoor training facility, was constructed in 2014. It’s state-of-the-art and must rank among the best such facilities in the NFL today. And earlier this year, the team partnered with UCHealth, naming the entire complex the UCHealth Training Center.

Dove Valley, headquarters of the Denver Broncos, is also home to the Paul D. Bowlen Memorial Centre — named for Pat’s father — where offices reside for the front office and coaches.

Bowlen became the first NFL owner to see his team win 300-plus games in his first 30 years in charge, every home game sold out while he was owner and the team enjoyed the best home record (186-71) .724 from 1984-2014.

Without a doubt, he is the most important figure in Denver Broncos history. This honor is befitting of Bowlen and should be a next step towards induction into the Professional Football Hall of Fame.
