Pro Football Focus sure has been focusing on the Denver Broncos lately. Or, maybe the Broncos just have some of the most talented players in the NFL today.
PFF named Chris Harris their No. 4 best player in the NFL, making him the most underrated player in the league since he was left off the NFL’s Top 100 list by fellow players. They also said Emmanuel Sanders is the NFL’s most-improved receiver according to all the statistics they keep.
Now, they’re giving praise to the Broncos defense, too:

So, this backs up Danny Trevathan‘s claim that he and Brandon Marshall are two of the best linebackers in the NFL today and that they deserve respect.
Of course, that low tackle percentage is more due to Marshall’s play than Trevathan, who was injured multiple times and only played in three games last year. Still, imagining a healthy Trevathan – who’s playing with someone else’s kneecap – alongside a healthy Marshall in the middle, with Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware on the outside; that’s a scary group for any opposing offense to face.
With Wade Phillips now the defensive coordinator, the Broncos are going to be going after the quarterback even more and Trevathan’s coverage ability will partly allow the defense to rush five or more players. And, Trevathan led the Denver defense in tackles in 2013 while it was Marshall leading the way last year.
It all sets up for possibly the top defense during the Peyton Manning Era in Denver.
