In partnership with JCPenny and the Boys and girls club, Broncos linebacker DeMarcus Ware got to surprise a group of children that were all given a $100 shopping spree for “Giving Tuesday”.

The kids, who probably thought they were just on another trip to a mall, were surprised to be met by Ware as they entered the JCPenny’s at Park Meadows tuesday night.

“On this giving tuesday its just an opportunity to spread joy and memories especially during this season of being thankful,” Ware told me after the event. “You think about santa, you think about family when you think about the holidays and for these kids this right here is their family with the Boys and girls club. Being able to come here with JCPenny’s knowing that they’ll get to shop here and get something special for themselves for a change, its just a great thing to spread the memories and be a part of it.”

Ware also went on to tell about the ties he had with the Boys and Girls club and what it means to give back in the Denver community. “When I was younger, I was part of the Boys and Girls club. Now being able to be a part of the Denver community and doing the same thing, being a role model for some of these kids is great and when you think about it, you think about how much joy you can spread in one day and how long those memories will last.”

In addition to hosting the shopping spree JCPenny’s also donated $100,000.00 to the Boys and Girls club. You can see a quick video of the reveal of DeMarcus Ware below.
