Denver Broncos Antonio Smith under investigation for child abuse

Denver Broncos defensive end Antonio Smith is under investigation for alleged child abuse. Per the initial report from TMZ, he is being investigated for multiple events that date back to 2010 but no charges have been filed.

Fort Bend County District Attorney, John Healey told TMZ “We’re trying to discern the truth from the untruthfulness of the claim to decide what charges, if any, will be filed.”

The Broncos released a brief statement regarding Smith via Vice President of Public Relations Patrick Smyth. “Last night, we became aware for the first time of an allegation involving Antonio Smith, we are now in the process of gathering more information.”

Smith signed with the Broncos as a free agent on April 2nd.
