Denver Broncos add a tight end, place Marvin Austin on injured reserve

The Broncos added another tight end to the roster on Thursday.

Denver also placed defensive tackle Marvin Austin on injured reserve with a groin injury.

Murphy is a first-year player who competed on practice squads with Miami and Cincinnati as a rookie in 2014. He spent the preseason with Oakland last year after being signed by the Raiders as a college free agent from the University of Utah.

Murphy totaled 63 receptions for 830 yards with 10 touchdowns in 30 games at the University of Utah.
