Demaryius Thomas is a freak of nature, in a good way.
A man that big and strong should not also be so fast and agile, and yet, DT has is all. It’s how he’s become the YAC (yards after the catch) leader in the NFL over the last two seasons.
Thomas utilizes bubble screens for sometimes massive gains, set up in part by blocks by his receiving teammates, to take the ball to the house. The catch-and-run ability has allowed him to rack up 1,398 YAC over the last two years, easily most in the league.
Thomas is no one-trick pony, though. He’s a deadly deep threat, can jump in front of defensive backs on post patterns and can also go up and attack the ball on fades in the end zone. Where he really stands out is when he makes otherworldly catches. Like this one-handed catch for a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs.
DT was named No. 20 in the NFL’s Top 100 Players of 2015, a list voted on by the players. Thomas was one of four receivers in the top 20, with Jordy Nelson (No. 18), Dez Bryant (No. 15) and Julio Jones (No. 13) ahead of him. Who would you rather have, though, more than DT?
The Broncos beastly receiver joined teammates Emmanuel Sanders (No. 95), DeMarcus Ware (No. 87), Von Miller (No. 33) and it seems likely Peyton Manning will again be in the top 10.
Those final 10 players will be announced next Wednesday night on NFL Network.
