Bruton was drafted in the 4th round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Broncos and has spent all 7 of his NFL season’s in Denver. The Broncos lose their special teams captain and another leader in the locker room to free agency.
Thanks to the @Broncos , my coaches, teammates and fans for seven great years and a Super Bowl ring! Playing for Pat Bowlen was an honor.

Washington will give Bruton a chance to start next to his former teammate Duke Ihenacho in the Redskins secondary. Even while being overshadowed on the depth chart, Bruton set career highs in tackles (49) and interceptions (2) for the Broncos in 13 games played before suffering a season-ending injury vs. the Steelers.
