Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard: "When I go home, I make sure I catch the Denver Nuggets"

Will Barton‘s rise to prominence with the Denver Nuggets since he was acquired from the Portland Trail Blazers last February has been well documented by our team at BSNDenver.

Nate Timmons had an exclusive sit down with Barton where he touched on his upbringing, draft night disappointment, time in Portland, why he ultimately re-signed in Denver and more. I spoke with Dan Connelly, who Barton works out with during the summers back in Baltimore, and tried to find out how the 23-year-old upped his 3-point percentage from 28 percent last season to nearly 40 percent thus far.

Barton’s gaining steam nationally as well. Everyone is slowly finding out about who Barton is, and catching on to the career-altering season he’s having in Denver.

One of Barton’s former teammates in Portland, Damian Lillard, is keeping tabs on him as well. With Denver playing in Portland tonight, Lillard dished on the season Barton’s having and how he still keeps in constant contact with him during yesterday’s practice.
