The Aqib Talib shooting saga may have come to a turning point today. Though the news is certainly not what the Denver Broncos and their cornerback were hoping for, news officially confirming the story BSN Denver broke June 5, as sources close to Talib told Sam Cowhick that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted.
WFAA-TV’s, Rebecca Lopez reported via Twitter this evening that the Dallas PD has, in fact, determined that Talib was not shot by anyone other than himself. Obviously not good news for the Denver Broncos star cornerback.
UPDATE: Lopez has since reported that the case is being closed, meaning no charges will be filed against Talib. Saying, “Dallas police sources say no charges will be filed against Talib. The case is closed & they are taking his word that he shot himself.” With this latest development Talib seems to be in the clear legally, now it remains to be seen if the NFL will discipline the Broncos CB for the incident.
