Over the next three weeks, BSN Buffs will be breaking down our top 20 Colorado Buffaloes entering the fall of 2017. These rankings were voted on by BSN Buffs editor Jake Shapiro and staff Chase Howell and Sam Weaver.

When Tim Lynott stepped foot on campus, he was one of the highest rated recruits that the Colorado Buffaloes had nabbed in a long time. He was dubbed as the guy that CU would build their offensive line around as a composite four-star recruit.

After redshirting during his first year with the Buffaloes, The 6-3, 300-pounder exceeded expectations during his freshman season. He became the first Buff since 2013 to be named t0 USA Today’s freshman All-American team. Lynott played 940 snaps, the most of any player on the team, and he only allowed three sacks and committed just three penalties all season.

Playing the right guard position, Lynott was excellent in run blocking where he was consistently getting to the second level or sealing a hole for his running back or quarterback could run through.

With the departure of Alex Kelley, no one would be surprised if Lynott gets moved to the center position for 2017 or soon thereafter. The Regis Jesuit grad is incredibly athletic for a 300-pounder and that gives him the versatility to play center or the two guard positions.

Expect Lynott to take another step up after his freshman season and become an even more dominant offensive lineman in 2017, perhaps one of the best in Pac.
