Quarterback Sheriron Jones from the University of Tennesee will transfer to the University of Colorado as originally reported by 247Sports. Jones is a six-foot-two, 208 pound dual-threat QB from Moreno Valley, California. The four-star prospect out of high school was ranked as the nation’s number seven dual-threat quarterback by 247Sports.

Jones redshirted this fall for the Volunteers as a freshman and he will be transferring to Colorado and enrolling for the spring semester. He will have to sit out the 2016 season due to NCAA rules but he’ll have three years of eligibility remaining after that.

Jones visited CU when he was high school and was ranked as a four-star prospect by every major scouting service. Among the schools that offered him a scholarship were Arizona, Arizona State, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Tennessee, Texas Tech and Nebraska.

The California prep star is a major addition to the Colorado quarterbacking position. He brings much-needed depth to the position in 2017 with Sefo Liufau and Jordan Gehrke expected to graduate.
