BOULDER – The Colorado Buffaloes finalized their nonconference hoops schedule for the 2017-18 season on Wednesday. Some highlights include match-ups against five front range teams and contests against Big Ten and Big East opponents.

The Buffs highlight might come in Cincinnati against Xavier on Saturday, Dec. 9. The Musketeers were upset 68-66 in Boulder by the Buffs last season and would go onto the Elite Eight.

The 2017 NIT’s No. 1 seeded Iowa Hawkeyes will play a neutral site game against CU the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D one week before Pac-12 play begins.

The Buffs will start their year with two straight home games, one against Tad Boyle’s former school (Northern Colorado on Friday Nov. 10,) followed by one coached by his former assistant Rodney Billups (University of Denver on Tuesday, Nov. 14.) It’ll be the Buffaloes first game against the Pioneers in 10 years.

The Buffs big tournament of the out of conference slate will be the Paradise Jam which will take place between Nov. 17-20 in the U.S. Virgin Islands

A fun one will be New Mexico, who visits the Coors Events Center on Wednesday, Dec. 6. Next year Colorado will travel to Albuquerque to make up the home and home, they will be there for the first time since they won their only NCAA Tournament win in the Boyle era.

From Colorado’s press release:

Times and television for Colorado’s nonconference home games will be announced by the Pac-12 later this summer, when the entire league slate is revealed. The Pac-12 announced weekly home/away designations for conference games in June.
