Colorado State Volleyball stands above the rest in the Mountain West.
At least, that’s what the conference’s coaches decided as they voted which team will win the league this year. The Rams have been the best in the west for years, winning the MW title six straight times, including last year when they went onto the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
Adrianna Culbert was also named MW Preseason Player of the Year, while her teammate Jaimie Colaizzi was named the league’s best libero. Culbert plays outside hitter and recorded 2.45 kills, 3.26 digs and a .312 rate last season. Colaizzi put together 468 digs last season, third-most in the history of CSU Volleyball.
And the Rams have not only won six straight Mountain West titles, but 12 of the last 16 as well.
Last week, our Brett Smaller talked to head coach Tom Hilbert, who said of this year’s team, “We have a few questions answered but we still have a lot of work to do, especially in the setting position. We’re good one day and not the next. We need to figure out some things, like what players can handle in terms of set location and tempo.”
