FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Many members of the Colorado State football team are publicly defending their coaches this weekend.

Following reports of dangerous COVID-19 protocols and racial insensitivity/verbal abuse, seniors from the football team created a united message for the CSU Community and are sharing it with #CSUUnited.

According to the message, which has already been shared by 25+ players ranging from freshman to fifth-year seniors, the staff has been positive, welcoming and focused on their development as student-athletes. More importantly, the message states that the team has not experienced any racially insensitive comments under Steve Addazio.

While this message does not necessarily speak for everyone’s experience in the locker room, the fact that the team has come out en masse to support the new staff is an encouraging sign — especially after a week filled with disappointing headlines.
