Last week, Colorado State Rams men’s basketball was rocked when Ross Hodge — the team’s lead recruiter and beloved assistant coach — as well as fellow assistant coach Leonard Perry left the program for greener pastures.
For Hodge, an associate head coach position with Arkansas State came calling and he accepted the position. For Perry, he was brought on as associate head coach of Pacific under Damon Stoudemire.
The players, while they were asked to not take anything to Twitter, have reacted. Some vaguely touching on it, and others more specifically getting after the two leaving. Without a doubt, the players are upset and CSU hoops continues to search for new assistant coaches. Rumor has it one possible candidate may even be in town right now.
These, from the day Hodge and Perry announced to the team they’d be leaving:
Its going to be a long day!!

Then, this came from Emmanuel Omogbo on Thursday:
My next paper would be how coaches leave and get to coach right away and players have to sit out a year👀 don't get it.

As for future players, who were recruited by Hodge, one has uncommitted while the other has decided to stay with Colorado State.
CSU has three scholarships to fill as well as at least one assistant coaching position. Stay tuned.
