The first tee view of Denver is unmatched

Located just a few blocks from our beloved DNVR bar sits the newly renovated City Park golf course. We were not too familiar with the old layout but we got the opportunity to play the the new layout this year and let’s just say it did not disappoint. From a playability/toughness stand point we gave it three flags. The back nine rivals any private club we have played in recent memory with different elevation changes and water features along with well placed bunkers. Having said that, the front nine was slightly confusing with a few holes crossing between each other other. Overall it’s a very fair but challenging layout with most of the teeth of the course coming from the par 3’s and the greens.

The course conditions out at City Park earned themselves a well deserved 5 flags. One of the huge advantages they do have is they are a city owned course which means they can access water whenever they need it and also have a bigger maintenance budget than your average privately owned course. Everything from the fairways to the bunkers and greens were in pristine shape.

The views out at City Park are just about the best views you’re going to find anywhere in the city. You couldn’t ask for a better location to put a golf course in the Denver metro area. Between the cityscape and the snow covered peaks there’s a little something for everyone. The views also received five flags.

The Par 4 11th with a great view of Denver

The value out at city park is also tough to beat.  Rates only go as high as $48 on weekends (cart not included) but given the superb conditions and layout any rate you pay at this track is going to be a steal.

Although the course is very impressive in its own right, the new clubhouse at CP takes the cake as the biggest draw for the general public. It is a very sleek and modern design that provides great city and Mountain views for drinks after work or dinner with the family. Couple that with the massive driving range and diverse short game area, this category also gets five flags. Overall, the city of Denver hit a Trevor Story sized home run on this renovation. There’s a reason you have to book a tee time two weeks in advance. It definitely gets the golf bros stamp of approval.
