After being selected with the 194th overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, sixth-round pick and former CSU standout pass-rusher Cory James has officially signed with the Oakland Raiders.
Over four seasons at CSU, James played in 51 games, starting 46 of them. In that time, James was one of the most productive players on the field, totaling 230 tackles (112 solo), 24 sacks, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.
James played in a variety of different roles in his time at CSU and thrived in all of them. James broke out early in his career, when he set a new school record for sacks by a freshman (7.5). James followed up his breakout freshman season with a career-high eight sacks in his sophomore campaign.

After primarily serving as a pass-rusher for the better part of three seasons, James was placed in a new role for his senior season. Playing a more traditional linebacker position, James thrived, recording a career-high 65 tackles and playing an integral role in former-defensive coordinator Tyson Summer’s defense.
James will have some familiar company in Oakland in Joe Hansley, who signed with the Raiders last Monday. Ram fans will hope to see these two former green and gold stars shining on Sunday’s in the silver and black.
