Coors Field adds another outdoor hockey game in 2016

The Colorado Avalanche were supposed to be the first hockey team to ever call Coors Field home in 2016. They are now being pre-empted by some local college talent.

Capitalizing on turning Coors Field into a hockey venue, there will now be a NCAA game played on February 20th, 2016, a week before the Avalanche host the Red Wings at the ballpark as part of the NHL’s “Stadium Series”.

The college game being called the “Battle on Blake”, will feature the DU Pioneers and the Colorado College Tigers.
