Larry Eustachy and Colorado State men’s basketball added to their talent pool for the future Tuesday when they officially announced the signing of guard Raquan Mitchell to a National Letter of Intent.

The 6-foot-3 guard out of Homestead, Florida starred at Miami Southridge High School where he became a three-star recruit. In two seasons for the Spartans, he averaged 22 points and five assists. Mitchell earned Florida Association of Basketball Coaches/Source Hoops Class 8A All-State third team and Miami Herald All-Dade honors.

Mitchell began his collegiate journey at Memphis before leaving the program in December of 2015. He’s spending this season at South Plains College in Texas, where his role for now is coming off the bench.

In three games, Mitchell is averaging seven minutes, five points and nearly two rebounds for the Texans.

Mitchell will join the Rams next fall and have three seasons of eligibility remaining. He slots in as the sixth newcomer for Eustachy in 2017-18, along with Kevin Little, Robbie Berwick, Kevin Dorsey, Lorenzo Jenkins and Alex Tarkanian.

The lone seniors that CSU will lose are Emmanuel Omogbo and Gian Clavell.
