The Mountain West Conference announced the 2016 football schedule Wednesday, consisting of 97 games, 48 of which are conference matchups.

Each member of the 12-team conference will play five intra-divisional games and three cross-divisional opponents, marking the fourth year the conference has used this format.

After a successful first season that ended in a heartbreaking 28-23 loss the the University of Nevada in the Arizona Bowl, Mike Bobo and the CSU Rams will look to continue the success of the last three seasons.

The 2016 season will be the final campaign for the beloved Hughes Stadium, and CSU will look to close the stadium in style. The Rams will open the season Sept. 2, in a Friday night matchup with in-state rival Colorado at Sports Authority Field in Denver.

Colorado State’s home opponents for the year include, The University of Texas at San Antonio, Northern Colorado, Wyoming, Utah State, Fresno State, and New Mexico.

CSU will take on the following opponents on the road: Minnesota, Boise State, UNLV, Air Force, and San Diego State.
