Fresh off their biggest win of the season, Colorado State got the worst of news regarding their young starting quarterback. Collin Hill, who started the last four games, will be out for the rest of 2016 with a torn ACL.
The play happened on a scramble late in the third quarter, when the true freshman scrambled for positive yardage. The injury occurred on a non-contact play as Hill planted his foot in the ground.
Mike Bobo announced Monday at his press conference that Nick Stevens will be the starter going forward. Stevens, a redshirt junior, started all 13 games for the Rams in 2015. He was named second team All-Mountain West and led CSU to a bowl game.
Saturday will be the first start for Stevens since the season opener against Colorado, when he was pulled for Faton Bauta.
