Antoine Martin Jr. is the latest commitment for Colorado State’s 2025 recruiting class. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound wide receiver announced his decision on “X” Tuesday afternoon as a birthday gift for his mother.
Listed as a three-star prospect by 247Sports, Martin picked the Rams over a handful of P4 offers including Kansas State, Michigan State, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt. Memphis, Pittsburgh and San Diego State are a few of the other quality programs that have reportedly offered the speedster out of Iowa Colony High School (Texas).
Martin has 42 catches for 809 yards and 10 touchdowns in high school career according to MaxPreps. Nine of his scores came this past season though, so he really broke out as a junior for an Iowa Colony squad that went 12-1 in 2023.
Based on his social media posts, Martin’s most recent official visit was Vanderbilt, where he’s being recruited by former Rams wide receiver coach Alex Bailey. Despite making the trip to SEC country and the fact that his first official offer was from Texas Tech, the shifty receiver with burner speed ultimately decided he wants to play for Jay Norvell, Chad Savage and Co. in the Green & Gold.
Watching him on Hudl, you can see that he’s simply too fast for most cornerbacks that were tasked with trying to stay in his way. When he hits full stride, the opponent really doesn’t have much of a hope other than to pray that he falls down. The highlight package features a whole lot of Martin running untouched into the end zone.
In a system like the Air Raid where you throw the ball north of 40 times per game, a prospect like Martin is desirable because he can torch you over the top or beat you in the open field with a quick screen, slant, etc. He has a listed 40-time of 4.45 seconds and it shows when you see how smoothly he gets up the field.
It’s obviously way too early to know what his career will be, but he definitely has all of the traits that this staff looks for when it comes to developing productive wide receivers. Martin may just be the next great Rams receiver. At the very least he has all of the tools.
