The Colorado State Rams are going bowling in Mike Bobo’s first year as head coach. It’s a success, even if CSU is pitted to play against Mountain West opponent the Nevada Wolf Pack.

In fact, it’s the first time two conference foes have met one another in a bowl game since 1979 when Oklahoma and Nebraska met in the Orange Bowl as the college football postseason has expanded to 40 bowl games this year.

And, while some fans worried they wouldn’t be able to watch the game on television, the good news is, they will.

On Thursday, Dec. 9, the powers that be decided the game will be televised on KDVR (FOX 31) instead of KWGN (CW2) because FOX 31 is more centered around sports.

For fans all across Colorado, this is good news because the game will be easily accessed and without the need of cable on channel 31.1. Of course, fans with cable will be able to watch the game in crystal clear HD through Comcast Xfinity’s channel 655 or through Century Link’s channel 1031. For those not in Colorado, the game will be streamed via CampusInsiders.com.

When the matchup was announced on Sunday, Mike Bobo explained he’s “very excited” to be playing another game with the chance for another win this season.

“It’s an exciting time for us to get another opportunity to play together with this 2015 team,” Bobo said. “And we’re looking at that as an opportunity to go 8-5.”

Bobo already became the first ever Colorado State head coach to win seven regular season games in his first season in charge and that number could grow to eight wins with a victory over Nevada (6-6).

The Rams and Wolf Pack may both be from the Mountain West, but the two did not play one another this season, at least. It makes for a new matchup for either team, just as most any other bowl game would regularly be.

“I’ve known since this morning,” Bobo said Sunday. “So I’ve watched a lot of tape of Nevada on defense already. And they’re a talented football team. They’ve played a lot of close games. 6-6 and got bowl eligible. Again, I’m not saying it just because you might think it’s what I’m supposed to say. I’m excited for a chance to play another game. I really don’t care who the opponent is.”

Fans should be equally excited, not only for the bowl game, but because it’s located in temperate Tucson, Arizona. Colorado State fans can purchase tickets here and there will also be an Alumni Association Ram Rally starting at 2:30 p.m. MT (three hours before kickoff) which fans can purchase tickets to here.
