Colorado State football practice begins today, complete with new signs

Say goodbye to summer and hello to fall camp, Colorado State football fans.

While we may still be feeling the heat of early August most days, the ceremonial end of summer is here for CSU players and coaches alike as the team practices for the first time today at 2:50 p.m. MT at their on-campus fields.

For new head coach Mike Bobo, this is an important fall camp. It’s his first go around in terms of being head coach and not “just” an offensive coordinator, meaning he gets to call all the shots. How the practices are conducted in terms of period breakdowns, whether he wants to cut it short or extend it slightly; Bobo is running the show.

On Friday, the new inspirational signage went up over the entryway to the practice fields. On one side it reads, “Never Satisfied” and on the other it’s, “Anyone, Anytime, Anyplace.”

Check out the sweet addition of a player’s face in the background behind the lettering.

With this fall camp comes many question marks for Bobo and the Rams.

Who will be the team’s starting quarterback; Nick Stevens or Coleman Key? What specifically will Bobo’s offense do; run-first, pass-first, rollout etc. and how can it be adapted to suit his players? Who will the surprise players be to step up? And maybe most importantly; Can the Rams continue their streak of two years with winning seasons and bowl appearances in a row?

While the players were allowed to workout with one another during the summer — with limited help from coaches — this is when the real preparation begins and we start to get some answers.

Colorado State’s 2015 season kicks off on Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. MT versus Savannah State at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium.
