If you’re a coach with the Colorado State football team, the focus has to be on doing the right things now, in the moment. Coaches are notorious for telling their players not to look past a game or an opponent, and in the grand scheme of things, CSU coaches have to avoid the pitfall of looking toward the new stadium.
Still, excitement is building in Fort Collins for the supremely-sized structure which will sit at the heart of Colorado State University’s campus – at least, the southern end of campus – and breaking it all in.
Nothing against Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium, which as been a fine home to the Rams football team since 1968, but fans, players and coaches alike are rightfully pumped about their soon-to-open new stadium.
Groundbreaking begins this summer and the team is scheduled to play their first games there in 2017. Today, head strength and conditioning coach Ryan Davis tweeted out a picture of the poster the school put together to further build anticipation.

A couple of the things the poster details is that all football equipment, including the weight lifting equipment, coaches offices and the Hall of Fame will be moved to the new stadium. There will also be a brand new locker room built, which will replace the Joey Porter locker room inside Moby Arena. Finally, they’ll also create new practice fields outside the stadium.
Without a doubt, this is an exciting time to be a Rams fan and the green and gold backers can’t wait to experience game day on campus.
