The Colorado Rockies have signed right-handed hitting utility man Ryan Raburn to a minor league deal per Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Rayburn spent the last three years in Cleveland, where played outfield, second base and third base.

The 34-year-old former Detroit Tiger (seven years) has a career slash line of .256/.318/.440. Last season he had a .301 batting average in 82 games for the Indians. His 1.4 WAR in 2015 was the third best season by WAR in his career where he has amassed 5.5 WAR in 10 seasons.

In 2015 he hit .325 against left-handed pitching, which could easily help the Rockies who in 2105 hit .256 against lefties. Rayburn also adds a bit of pop as he has averaged around 16 home runs per year since he broke into the league in 2004. The 34-year old’s best defensive position is left field, there he has played 1927 innings.
