With multiple injuries to the National League All-Star squad, NL Manager Bruce Bochey named Tulowitzki as a replacement. Matt Holliday will not be able to partake in the festivities along with Marlins second baseman Dee Gordon, who dislocated a finger on Saturday attempting to slide underneath a tag. Tulowitzki will join teammates Nolan Arenado, and D.J. LeMahieu who were already selected to the team.
The Rockies six year streak of having a starter in the All-Star game will continue on Tuesday night in Cincinatti. Gordon was voted as the starting second baseman for the National League but that role will now be filled by Rockies D.J. LeMahieu as chosen by Bochey, after originally coming in fourth among NL second baseman.
