Colorado Rockies release 2018 Spring Training schedule and two new hats

DENVER – On Monday the Colorado Rockies announced their 31-game 2018 Cactus League schedule. In the eighth season of the shared Salt River Fields with the Arizona Diamondbacks the Rockies will host 16 games.

Colorado begins play on Feb. 23 at Salt River Fields against Arizona. That date is tied for the earliest start to spring in club history due to MLB’s schedule changes in 2018. The Rockies will finish their 2018 spring slate against Seattle on March 27 before heading across the desert to kick off the 2018 regular season on March 29 against the D-Backs.

Cactus League play opens at Salt River Fields vs. Arizona on Feb. 23

 

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced their 31-game 2018 Cactus League schedule today, featuring 16 home games and three road games at the award-winning Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. The 2018 Cactus League season will be the club’s eighth year at the shared Spring Training facility with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community land near Scottsdale.

 

Colorado opens their Spring Training schedule as the home team against Arizona at Salt River Fields on Feb. 23, a date that is tied with the 2013 season for the earliest start to Cactus League play in franchise history.  The Rockies will conclude their 2018 Spring Training Schedule with a home game against Seattle on March 27 before opening the 2018 regular season on March 29 at Arizona.

The club also released two new caps today.

The first of which will be worn during Spring Training and features a cool play on the Centennial State’s flag.

The second cap will be club’s home batting practice headwear for their upcoming 25th season in the majors.

The 25th year celebration patches will be on the uniforms next season as well which can be seen in an image the Rockies tweeted out.
