The Colorado Rockies have optioned switch-hitting utility man Rafael Ynoa to Triple-A Albuquerque ahead of the 2016 season. The club also reassigned right-hander Brian Schlitter to Triple-A. The club’s spring training roster is now at 38 players which includes six non-secondary-roster players.

Ynoa has played 91 games in his career in the majors all with the Rockies. The 28-year-old spent half of his 2015 season in Triple-A where he batted .286/.333/.388 over 56 games. In the majors he didn’t see as much success as he hit for a .260 average with 9 RBI. In his short while with the Rockies the past two season the utility man has played to replacement level.
Schlitter signed as a free agent from the Chicago Cubs this offseason. With Chicago Schlitter made 78 appearances over three seasons, most of which came in 2014. The reliever has a career 5.40 ERA and a 1.591 WHIP in 71.2 innings. He will start the season in the Pacific Coast League where he played most of last season for Iowa. He recored 23 saves in 45 appearances for the Cubs’ top farm team.
