What was the story of the Colorado Rockies 7-3 road trip? The young starting pitching fighting through teams adjusting against them? The bullpen showing warts for the first time? The ridiculous stretch that Charlie Blackmon has been on? All good answers. All wrong!
Of course, such things are a bit subjective, but for our money, Carlos Gonzalez breaking out of his month-long slump was the single biggest development of the trip and is best symbolized by his fourth-inning home run in Cincinnati, the most CarGo has looked like his best self all season.

Over his last 15 games, Gonzalez is hitting .367/.426/.567 with two home runs and nine RBI. He started so poorly that only brings his season batting average up to .250. It was the 200th home run in Gonzalez’ Rockies career, putting him into the Top 5 and just one behind Dante Bichette for fourth place.
