ALBUQUERQUE, NM. – The Colorado Rockies and their Triple-A affiliate, the Albuquerque Isotopes have extended their partnership for another two season beyond the next two that were already inked, the parties announced on Monday.

They will not be splitting their bond. The half-life shall go on. It all comes down to a shared chemistry. It’s radioactive… radioactive.

There will continue to be I-25’ers.

The people involved couldn’t have beamed more with excitement and pride over how close they have become in such a relatively short period of time.

The clubs first became affiliated prior to the 2015 season and will remain so at least until 2022. Ken Young, President of the Isotopes, joyously announced that the two-year extension was the most they were allowed. “We weren’t looking to go elsewhere,” he says.

Applause echoed through the room as the final documents were signed.

In the press conference announcing the extension, GM Jeff Bridich remarked that the decision took “all of one conversation,” and referred multiple times to the “family” atmosphere that has been created in the past few years.

Rockies Director of Player Development, Zach Wilson, says, “These agreements aren’t business agreements,” referring once more to how close the two organizations have become.

Triple-A manager Glenallen Hill, the only Isotopes manager since they teamed with the Rockies, said of the announcement, “It’s a natural agreement… Players are very well taken care of.”

The Isotopes have a long and storied history, even famously appearing on the Simpsons, and you can find relics of that all across the state-of-the-art facility.

We will have more details on how this relationship has impacted the play on the field and the development of Rockies top talent soon.
