Rockies closer Adam Ottavino revealed his elbow injury may be of the season ending nature. Ottavino said he is facing Tommy John surgery and that will likely put an end to his 2015 campaign.
Ottavino pitched in 10 games for the Rockies, posting a 1-0 record with a 0.00 era, 3 saves, striking out 13 batters in 10.1 innings pitched before being placed on the disabled list on April 26th with right triceps inflammation.
Ottavino is expected to meet with the ever so popular sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews. Fellow Rockies reliever Rafael Betancourt just returned from Tommy John surgery at the age of 39 after missing all of 2014. It might be awhile before we see Ottavino back in the closer’s role for the Rockies.
