Today on an appearance on MLB Network Radio, Colorado Rockies pitcher Chad Bettis declared good news he received over the holidays. He was told by doctors that he is now cancer free.

Bettis was diagnosed with testicular cancer in November and was told he should make a speedy recovery and be ready to go for the 2017 season. Of course, the first hurdle is the most important and baseball a distant second and everyone in the Rockies family is beyond elated to learn the news today. Back in August, Bettis talked to us about his passion for chess and the ongoing pursuit of mastering Coors Field. In that interview, it’s easy to see the value he brings to the Colorado Rockies as a player and as a person.
Congratulations, Chad.
