Both are very deserving of the honor but it is somewhat surprising they made it ahead off shortstop Troy Tulowitzki who will have to get in via the MLB Final Vote contest. All three players fell short in fan voting and had to find other ways to make it to the mid-summer classic.

Tulo is the only position player in the NL’s Final Vote and will be up against four pitchers; reining Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw, Reds starter Johnny Cueto, Carlos Martinez of the Cardinals, and Mets closer Jeurys Familia. Voting ends on Friday July 10th.
