As we get closer and closer to the fall, when the weather cools down baseball starts to really matter at 20th and Blake, one thing seems to be a constant—Nolan Arenado is red hot.

One day before being named National League player of the month after a July for the ages, No. 28 kept the ball rolling by delivering a 3-run homer to give Colorado the lead against the New York Mets.

It was not only his 24th homer of the year that gave the Rox hope for winning, it was also his walk-off single that drove in Charlie Blackmon that would seal the fate the Blake Street Bombers with a 5-4 victory.

Arenado’s N.L. player of the month award is the second of his career.

“Awards don’t get old,” Arenado said. “It’s great that people appreciate the work I’ve put in. It means a lot, it’s a good feeling.”
