The Colorado Rockies welcomed the defending AL champion Cleveland Indians for a quick two-game set at 20th and Blake and showed the baseball world that the dreaded ‘June Swoon’ is a thing of the past.
The Rox swept Cleveland in the two-game series, starting with an 11-3 victory in game one in what could only be called ‘The Mark Reynolds Show.’ Reynolds was all over the grass Tuesday evening, showing his veteran athleticism both with the bat and the glove. No. 12 started the evening with a diving stop at first to bail out Antonio Senzatela, then would let the long ball do the rest of the talking.
With two outs in the fifth inning, Reynolds would deliver a three-run home run to blow the doors open at Coors Field, only to one-up himself in the seventh with his second dinger of the day.
The two shots are his 15th and 16th on the season on his five RBI evening.
