The Colorado Rockies are the best team in Baseball that nobody is talking about thanks in large part to little-known names such as Antonio Senzatela.
Senzatela, a rookie out of Venezuela, is having himself quite the start to his young career with an impressive April and a strong outing Wednesday evening against rival San Diego. Senzatela gave up two earned runs in his six innings pitched and also accomplished a first for his professional career—a hit.
The short blooper came off of Jered Weaver, and the rookie was able to outrun the play from Erick Aybar. With his career off to such a hot start, the team (mainly Ian Desmond) awarded the kid with a nickname.
“I’m calling him the ‘Little Prince’ from here on out,” Colorado’s first baseman said. “He comes from the same town as King Felix. He’s the next king in waiting.”
Principito, (the Little Prince) has earned himself more than a nickname in the locker room; Senzatela was also named National League Rookie of the Month.
