The post-up play in today’s NBA is nothing to get excited over—unless you’re posting up The King.
Your Denver Nuggets played host to the defending world champion Cleveland Cavilers Wednesday night at the Pepsi Center and walked away with the 126-113 victory, all while holding fast to their No. 8 spot in the Western Conference over the Portland Trailblazers. With the win being the big picture on the evening, one play sticks out more than any other—that post play.
Nikola Jokic handled the ball in the paint late in the third quarter and made it look easy as part of his 16-and-10 performance. Since Dec. 15th (the night Denver made Jokic their starting center) the Nuggets are the league’s top scoring team.
The play will go down as a career highlight for the second-year center and something coach Mike Malone called a “defining moment.”
