Most fathers want peace, quiet and a cold one, and steak on Father’s Day; throwing in a historic win down at 20th and Blake isn’t too shabby either.
The Colorado Rockies hosted the San Francisco Giants for a four-game stint at Coors Field that saw the Rox win all four games in dramatic fashion, but none greater than the Father’s Day frenzy. Local hero Nolan Arenado had a four-RBI afternoon down at Blake Street while also helping Colorado complete a four-game sweep against San Fran for the first time in franchise history—with a walk-off cycle; the cycle was the first for the two-time silver slugger and the eighth in Rockies History.
Arenado quickly summed it up during the post-game interview. “This is No. 1, probably the best moment of my career.”
The win marks the ninth game in a row that Colorado has beaten San Francisco, extending the longest winning streak against any divisional opponent in team history.
