Colorado Play of the Week: An All-Star starter is born

They say it is always the darkest before the dawn. Well, if that is the case, the dawn is on its way for the Colorado Rockies.

During the team’s eight-game losing streak, though, one name has stood out—Nolan Arenado. Arenado has made a statement to the fans and the rest of Major League Baseball that he will not go quietly into the 88th All-Star game on July 11th.

With less than 12 hours remaining for fans to cast their ballot, Arenado leapfrogged over Cubs’ star Kris Bryant for the start. With No. 28 trailing for most of the year, it might have had something to do with the spectacular play made Wednesday afternoon that cemented his place on the national league roster.

Both Arenado and fellow teammate Charlie Blackmon are set to start the Midsummer Classic.
