The Colorado Avalanche have announced they have signed Forward Andreas Martinsen to a one-year entry-level contract.
The 24-year old forward has spent the last three seasons playing for Dusseldorfer EG of the DEL (Germany). Martinsen is 6’3″, 220 pounds and he scored 18 goals, 23 assists for 41 points in 50 games played and added 1 goal and 4 assists in 12 playoff games.
The announcement comes after the team was able to see Martinsen play with Team Norway in the World Championships where he teamed up alongside fellow Avalanche prospect Jonas Holos. Martinsen had been rumored to be on the Avs radar most of the season and continues a trend of the Avalanche targeting older European players as he is the 4th they have signed in the last 12 months.
