Sarkisian? I didn’t think that he was actually a real possibility. If he truly is in on the job, I think you have to roll the dice on the guy.

Of all the possible candidates, he’s the one that’s most likely to give the Buffs a big boost forward. Even if things go south with him you roll the dice and hopefully you land a few premiere prospects, get more wins and entice a bigger fish down the road. If he’s really an option, he’s a no-brainer. CU will definitely keep all of it’s recruits and Blake Stenstrom would probably put his gear in reverse real quick. (I don’t know if he can do that or not. Back out of the portal?)

Sorry, Henry.. another thought (actually two thoughts):

The hire has to be Sarkisian. If CU went with Bielema, Mel’s agent gets rich on both ends of this disaster. CU can’t allow itself to be played as the Monkey in the middle or Pickle in the middle. Now knowing that both coaches share the same agent, I want no part of Bielema. That would be so embarrassing to me. So, no.

If they go with Calhoun, I bet you can say goodbye to a large amount of the new recruits. I know the kids say they’re staying, but to go from Mr. Charms to the stoic, military academy coach who has run the triple option for a decade and a half? Nothing says, “Ok, Boomer” like a stoic, stiff necked football coach. I think kids wouldn’t break their necks to leave.
