It’s clear why these players leave Colorado. They want to win. Plus the CU recruiters are so bad, most our recruits refer to CU as Colorado Universal. There’s a fix for that, but the athletics department isn’t strong enough to do it.

The o lIne issue goes back to Mike McIntyre and his Oline coach Klayton Adams who was awful. That has been the only coaching regime to not recruit and have an Olineman drafted. They put restrictions on the strength and conditioning coaches to keep them small, as in under under 290. CU does need to do better in state but because of the transient nature of the state they will never close the borders as they say. The tight end this year Sam Hart that is going to Ohio St came from the midwest and always wanted to play at a Big 10 school. When CU was great besides Oline, most of the team came from Cali and Texas. imo the best possiblilty of landing one of those lineman is the guy from Cherry Creek. The others who knows how long they have lived in state and where their parents allegiances are. With all the Mcaffery boys, Mom hated CU so even though they were the first to offer they had no shot. Ballage came down to CU and ASU but picked ASU. I would love CU to get a couple of those guys but not because they are from Colorado but because they are great players
