First off, THANK YOU! Thank you for quelling the inane rumors of CU wanting to go back to the Big XII. I don’t understand any of the arguments that have been made for CU to go back to the dumpster fire that is the current state of the Big XII.
Second, I think Jeremy Irwin may put himself in the discussion for all-Pac12 as well as the names you mentioned.
Third, for me, the last truly great CU football moment was when we beat OU in 2007. I was a student and it was the last time I happily stormed the field. (I’ve begrudgingly stormed the field since, but more so because I was in the front row and when we beat WVU and Texas A&M in Boulder and it would have been dangerous to try and stay in the stands) I remember being happy and thinking that Dan Hawkins actually might be the answer at coach. Every other win since then was cloaked with either a twinge of a “Bronx cheer” or maybe even relief that we didn’t screw up a winnable game. Like when we beat WSU in Pulman, I was happy for Embree and Co., but it was more of a “well, at least we won 1 game” feeling, and even last year against csu was much more relief than joy.
Finally, Team 23 did knock CU’s TBT team out last year, and went on to lose in the championship game. Time to get revenge tomorrow.
