Deion Sanders was brutally honest after Colorado’s 29-7 loss to No.12 Texas Tech on Saturday night.
The Buffs scored a TD on their opening drive but were shutout the rest of the game. Four interceptions (three by QB Isaac Wilson) led to 19 of the Red Raiders’ 29 points.
“We have one glaring problem,” Deion Sanders said postgame. “You guys know what that is. Let’s stop the foolishness, man. We have one glaring problem.
“We have to play better at one position.”
QB is the one position Coach Prime is alluding to and it’s the position that has cost Colorado in back-to-back weeks. It’s why Julian Lewis was benched last week and why Isaac Wilson made his first start as a Buff on Saturday night.
Wilson completed 26 of 44 pass attempts (59%) for 294 yards (career high) and one TD with three INTs. He led a 75-yard TD drive capped off with a eight-yard TD pass to Joseph Williams on the opening possession but was shutout the rest of the game.
The Buffs have been outscored 93-27 during their three-game losing streak. Deion Sanders said Colorado (2-3) will have an open QB competition heading into the bye week.
