Danny Scudero is missing his first Colorado football game of the season.

The Buffs‘ receiver played 37 snaps in Week 2 after playing just 13 snaps in the season opener, but a recent setback will have him sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Scudero suffered a foot injury during Colorado’s fall camp that made him a game-time decision for the Week 1 win vs. Georgia Tech. He didn’t look like his usual self in the season opener or in Week 2 when he nearly tripled his snap count from the previous game.

Coach Prime alluded to Danny Scudero’s uncertain health status earlier in the week.

“I don’t know if Danny’s going to be healthy this week,” Deion Sanders said Tuesday.

It doesn’t seem likely that Scudero will return anytime soon but luckily for the Buffs, Joseph Williams and DeAndre Moore Jr. have emerged as the team’s top two WRs. That duo has combined to catch 14 passes for 190 yards and three TDs entering Week 3 vs. Northwestern.

Without Danny Scudero, Colorado (2-0) will rely more on guys like Kam Perry, Ernest Campbell and Quentin Gibson. Week 3 at Northwestern (1-0) will be the Buffs’ first test of the season without Scudero.
