The Colorado football team is back on the road for its Big 12 opener this weekend.
Baylor welcomes the Buffs to Waco, Texas on Saturday for a matchup of two teams (both 2-1) who badly need a fast start to conference play. The return of Big 12 action also signals the return of player availability reports.
With both teams dealing with uncertainties at key positions, here’s a look at the initial injury report for Colorado football vs. Baylor:
OUT
WR Danny Scudero
OL Demetrius Hunter
CB Preston Ashley
LB Colby Johnson
Notes: It’s been a disappointing start to Scudero’s career as a Buff. A recent aggravation of his foot injury will have him sidelined for the foreseeable future after playing just 50 snaps in the first three games. Hunter impressed in relief of Sean Kinney at center in Week 1 but the Houston transfer hasn’t returned to the lineup since with an ankle injury.
DOUBTFUL
TE Charlie Williams
RB Damian Henderson
DL Vili Taufatofua
P Daniel Gerlach
Notes: Williams has started all three games for the Colorado football team thus far but that streak is in jeopardy. If he’s unable to go, expect to see even more of Zach Atkins and Fisher Clements (both probable) or perhaps more WRs on the field.
QUESTIONABLE
RB Jaquail Smith
LB Bo LaPenna
Notes: Smith led the Colorado football team in rushing (91 yards) last week vs. Northwestern and appears to be trending upwards. The Buffs can certainly survive without him, but he might be their most explosive RB at the moment.
PROBABLE
CB Cree Thomas
OL Chauncey Gooden
OL Leon Bell
TE Zach Atkins
TE Fisher Clements
